re: bespoke, yeah, it is totally like that. Unfortunately, the only tailor (a very old friend of my father's) I've ever had retired this year, so the next time I put together the time/money/desire to get a tailored suit, I have no idea where to go...
Two words: Hong Kong.
Admittedly, you have to spend the money to get to Honkers, but when you consider that the cost of the airfare is barely 1/3 of the cost of a single bespoke suit from an English tailor, the economics suddenly start making a lot more sense...
