Weird??? It was INSANE! I was too drained from the last three games to even feel tense in the early part of the game, but all the stress came back the moment Pedro came out of the bullpen.
And now for another week of this...
It was the only portion of the game I couldn't watch, because it just have been too awful for the Sox to collapse because of an ineffective Pedro two years in a row.
Pedro wanted in because everyone else in the rotation had had a shining moment during the Series, and let's face it: He's pissed about the whole "Who's Your Daddy?" stuff that will never go away. He's a star player, and Francona kowtows to star players.
This is why I believe the Sox should not bother signing him in the offseason. Instead, they should use the money to re-acquire Carl Pavano (whom they traded for Petey in the first place) and re-sign Varitek (who is the team's captain) and Lowe (who deserves it after he saved his season in Game 7).
