I had thought to take my shirts to the cleaners at some point this week, perhaps on Wednesday, on my way to work.
I am now reconsidering that plan.
And in other, entirely unrelated news, does anyone out there know much about hiking the Appalachian Trail?
my friend thur hiked the whole thing. he started in georgia in april and made it to maine by august. but it takes a certain level of crazy to do the whole thing.
Well I haven't hiked it, but I read a really funny book by Bill Bryson called Into the Woods that made me want to.
I've always wanted to do the whole trail. It's not looking good right now, but sooner or later I may (as it were) put my foot down and go and do it. The normal run is four to six months, and by all reports it's a glorious form of pain and suffering.
I've done portions of it on a motorcycle. I guess that's not the same, though, is it?
You all R crazy. What's the point of wall to wall carpeting and central heating and higher education if you're just gonna spend all your nights on the cold hard ground anyway? Especially in this weather...
A friend of mine completed the southern half of the trail 3 months ago; if you like, I can ask him to email you with his thoughts...
