yeah - that all makes pretty good sense, unsurprisingly. though i'm not real sure where the whole biochemical/environmental factors come to it, i think it's certainly a trait of those that experience depression to put themslves out of harm's way, to use a horrible expression.
i think it's also interesting to view the personalities of those who, whilst having been depressed before, remain as "introverts" after the fact. are they sub-consciously setting themselves up in a strategy of harm-avoidance? or is that simply what they are like as people? or, is it even both of those?
