So the big Apple news tonight is that new ads for the iPhone have been broadcast tonight, showing of the UI and advertising the launch date for the device (in case you’re wondering, the launch date is June 29).
The UI as demonstrated is quite clever, and one of the ads features the disembodied hand looking up a restaurant… but unlike most ads of this kind, the restaurant that they look up is a real restaurant.
One thing I noticed was that the date on the iPhone that’s being demonstrated is June 3… which just happens to be the same day that the ads first aired.
The New York Times page shown is from May 14 or May 15, based on the featured articles.
